Ansatz: PhySoc Web Magazine

What is ?

Ansatz is the online bimonthly magazine of the PhySoc at IIT Kharagpur. Ansatz (Ger., "anset, onset, or outset"; plural: Ansätze) is a term often used by physicists and mathematicians. An ansatz is a wise guess that is legitimated later by its results. So, the ansatz for this endeavour was that this online magazine would serve as a platform for the students of the department to be exposed to the excitement of work in various fields of physics.

We would like to have some fun along the way by facilitating an exchange of the funny/fun/learning/shocking experiences one has had. All of us on this team are beginners and request you to send in your comments/feedback to the Team at phyiitkharagpur@gmail.com so that we can improve the further editions of this magazine.

Are you a student with a passion for physics, science communication, or just a topic you want to share? Ansatz is written entirely by students, and we welcome contributions from anyone in the IIT Kharagpur physics community.

All articles involve the writers actively in the editing process and are reviewed before publication. This makes contributing a great way to gain experience in writing, revising, and presenting scientific content, giving you valuable practice for producing research articles in the future.

Whether you want to write a popular science article, an academic piece, creative physics non-fiction, or a quirky paradox, we'd love to hear from you!
